CHAMPION

Ronda Rousey (1-0 UFC, 5-0 Zuffa, 7-0 overall): Former Olympic judo medalist won the first women’s bout in the UFC. Now she just needs a test from a first-class striker (most of them in bigger weight classes, unfortunately) or a first-class wrestler (Sara McMann?). And a sports bra that actually covers up what it’s supposed to cover up. Beat Carmouche on Feb. 23; next vs. Tate-Zingano winner?

TOP CONTENDERS

*Miesha Tate (0-0 UFC, 2-1 Zuffa, 13-3 overall): Former Strikeforce champ, beating Coenen. And she at least gave Rousey a battle.

*Cat Zingano (0-0 UFC, 7-0 overall): No huge wins on her resume, but she has finished six of her fights and has an immediate chance for a career-making win.

*Sara McMann (0-0 UFC, 6-0 overall): Former Olympic wrestling medalist is still unbeaten and was due to face Carmouche in Strikeforce before that fight fell through. She has beaten legit opponents in Tonya Evinger and Shayna Baszler. Is she ready for Rousey, or does she need to go through Kaufman or Tate first?

CONTENDERS

Liz Carmouche (0-1 UFC, 0-2 Zuffa, 8-3 overall): After losing last two Strikeforce bouts to Marloes Coenen and Sarah Kaufman, she was a heavy underdog against Rousey. But she put a fight in the loss (Feb. 23) and established herself as someone to watch.

Alexis Davis (0-0 UFC, 2-1 Zuffa, 13-5 overall): Lost MMA debut and last Strikeforce fight to Kaufman; won two in Invicta, avenging loss to Shayna Baszler.

*Sarah Kaufman (0-0 UFC, 2-1 Zuffa, 15-2 overall): Didn’t give Rousey as much of a battle as Tate did, but she did beat Tate in 2009 and held Strikeforce belt.

VETERANS

Julie Kedzie (0-0 UFC, 0-2 Zuffa, 16-11 overall): Fought anyone and everyone, including Gina Carano. Lost to Davis and Tate in Strikeforce.

NEWBIES

Germaine de Randamie (0-0 UFC, 1-1 Zuffa, 3-2 overall): 2-1 in Strikeforce.

*Sheila Gaff (0-0 UFC, 10-4-1 overall): Moving up from flyweight.

*Amanda Nunes (0-0 UFC, 0-1 Zuffa, 7-3 overall): 1-1 in Strikeforce, with a loss to Davis. 1-1 in Invicta.

—————

FEATHERWEIGHTS (145 pounds)

*Cris Cyborg / Cris Santos (10-1 overall): Has never fought below 145, but Rousey wants her to drop to 135, and the UFC loves Rousey. Beat Gina Carano to win Strikeforce belt, defended it twice but failed drug test after third defense. Inactive in 2012, but after some back-and-forth with the UFC, she signed with Invicta.

Marloes Coenen (21-5 overall): Ranked No. 1 in both rankings, though Cyborg is ineligble due to inactivity.

Gina Carano (7-1 overall): A little busy in Hollywood, but we’ll list her just in case she wants to come back.

BANTAMWEIGHTS (135 pounds)

See above for actual UFC signings, which includes most of the top fighters in the class. At least Kaufman has another Invicta fight April 5 vs. Leslie Smith. Nunes, too.

FLYWEIGHTS (125 pounds)

*Jessica Eye (9-1 overall): Beat Bellator strawweight champion Zoila Gurgel. No. 1 in both rankings.

Rosi Sexton (13-2 overall): Sole losses are to much bigger Carano and to Gurgel. May be winding down career.

Zoila Gurgel (12-2 overall): Won Bellator strawweight tournament but has signed with Invicta FC and is listed at 125.

*Barb Honchak (7-2 overall): Fighting for Invicta FC flyweight title.

*Vanessa Porto (15-5 overall): Also fighting for Invicta FC title.

STRAWWEIGHTS (115 pounds)

Jessica Aguilar (14-4 overall): Lost to Gurgel in Bellator strawweight semifinal. Won three Bellator fights since then, the last vs. Fujii. No. 1 in both polls.

Megumi Fujii (26-2 overall): Lost to Gurgel in Bellator strawweight final, her first loss after 22 wins. Also lost next Bellator fight to Aguilar.

Carla Esparza (9-2 overall): Invicta FC strawweight champion. Losses to Fujii and Aguilar in Bellator.

ATOMWEIGHTS (105 pounds)

*Jessica Penne (10-1 overall): Invicta FC atomweight champion. Sole loss is to Gurgel. No. 1 in both rankings.

*Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson (10-3 overall): Invicta challenger and the only female fighter on Bully Beatdown. She won.
