SportsMyriad Sochi Crew: Laura Taylor

I love hockey. The first games I ever watched were the 1995 Stanley Cup Finals on an old fuzzy-screened TV I wheeled into the radio station control room so I could watch while I worked. I stayed up for the entire 3OT Game 4 between Colorado and Florida in ’96 (though I fell asleep during Dallas/Buffalo in ’99 – which I had to listen to on the radio because my cable was out).

I started playing hockey after the USA Women’s Team won the inaugural gold medal at the 1998 Olympics in Nagano. In 2005 my team won the USA Hockey Southeastern Districts (our own gold-medal moment) and made it to Nationals in Green Bay. We didn’t win, but we played well and had a great time.

I’m a sound designer, composer and audio engineer currently working for a pair of AM radio stations. When I’m not watching hockey, I’m blogging about soccer, sports and other stuff at HappyGoSnarky.

I live in Atlanta. I know how to drive in snow.
